A Southern Cross 2.5" x 3" piston pump with a number of new parts fitted (see below) ... and mounted with a new electric 1 hp single phase motor !

This pump has been stripped down, sandblasted, primed and repainted and, as always, has a new kit fitted (valve rubbers, buckets, springs, gaskets and packing)!

As well, this unit now sports a new piston rod, new pinion and shaft, new 14" v-pulley and, of course, the new electric motor which is fitted with a 2" pulley!! As shown in the photos above, the gearbox and pinion are both sound.

 

Suction and discharge are both 1.25". Our Southern Cross information says that it has a 250 feet head and, at 50 strokes per minute (250 rpm at the pump) it will deliver 300 gallons per hour and will only need less than a 1 hp electric motor to drive it to the maximum head at the recommended speed of between 50 and 70 strokes per minute - now that's efficiency!!

 

The new Fasco Multi-motor is 240 volts, 750 watts, 5.3 amps, 1450 rpm, 50 Hz and single phase.

 

All you need to do is to add oil, plumbing and a water source and you will be off and pumping!!
