To borrow from "Mr Dundee" - "That's not a gear box, THIS is a gear box"!

Yes - a bull gear that is as new and a brand new pinion and shaft unit fitted into two brand new bearings - there are many years ahead of this pump.
The unit is on consignment. At one stage of its life, it pumped Clarence River water. Now, it just needs a new home - and that home can be quite hilly.
We have had a reasonable number of 2.5" x 5" pumps, but not Forrers, so this is a first for us. This pump is not listed in the Forrers charts/documentation that we have. Given other pump specs, we believe it will deliver approx. 500-600 gallons per hour.
The ID tag on the pump confirms that it is a 2.5" x 5" pump and has a head of 700 feet - that is one of the highest heads a piston pump will manage. It probably can't be easily seen in the photos provided, but the pump housing where the size is usually cast into the body, shows " x 5". The lack of a bore size in the bore/stroke casting further suggests that this pump may have been a one-off order produced by Forrers.
To prepare this pump for its new home, we have replaced the pinion and shaft with a new unit and both bearings with new stock. We have also replaced all the bolts and will include a new battery (the old one is showing in the photos). The pump is driven by a 8 hp diesel engine with key start.
The unit is set up on a steel stand. The stand is a bit rusted, but it still has many years life left in it. The photos show the rust on the runners for your information.
Pumps that are capable of doing 500-600 gallons per hour and push to a 700 feet head are not overly abundant - and one in this condition is quite a rarity. And ... the bonus - you need only a minimum of 2.5" piping to achieve all of this which makes the unit economical across the board.
