Being one of the most common pumps we sell, we expect that this one will roll out the door relatively quickly. The 2.5" x 3" pumps are also the ones for which we have the most spare parts so you know that there is backup should it be required.

A 2.5" x 3" unit will pump to a maximum head of 250 feet. Their suction and discharge outlets are 1.25" which means that your delivery pipe will need to be a minimum of 1.25" - however, a larger pipe is recommended because it will help to overcome friction when pumping. This pump will deliver 300 gallons per hour and it will need a minimum of 0.75 hp (electric) to deliver that at 50 strokes per minute.

As well as the usual stripdown, sandblast, undercoating and respray, this pump has had the following new parts fitted:

• crosshead pin and bush
• stuffing box - complete with gland sleve
• piston shaft
• cylinder liner
• piston plates x 2
• centre plate
• end plate
• wet-end maintenance kit - buckets, valve rubbers, valve springs, gland packing and a set of gaskets
