This winch is a real case of "what you see is what you get". It is solid. It's gears are in amazing condition - and they turn easily. It has both forward and reverse - achieved by simply moving the smaller gear. It has what appears to be the original handle.

We were told that this winch may have been used as a tow-truck vehicle winch back in the day. 

It isn't necessarily "pretty". It isn't for everyone. But ... it will work tirelessly for you if you have the situation where it can be utilised.
